Natural Family Planning:
Overview

Natural methods of family planning do not use any chemical, drug, or device. They rely, rather, on the natural signs and symptoms within a woman to identify the times of fertility and infertility. The natural process of the reproductive system is left intact and undisturbed. Modern methods of Natural Family Planning (NFP) differ from Calendar Rhythm in this way: they are based upon the physiological signs of fertility and infertility as they occur in each and every cycle.

Couples who have used NFP have found that it is not only reliable in avoiding pregnancy but it is also very reliable in achieving pregnancy. Using the method is not only beneficial to family planning needs but couples testify that practicing NFP encourages Christian marriage as an intimate partnership of life and love, a sacrament of mutual decision making and shared responsibility.
