A Note on the Group Model
The Rachel's Vineyard™ retreat or support group offers a beautiful opportunity for any person who has struggled with the emotional or spiritual pain of an abortion. Both formats of the program offer a process designed to help you experience the mercy and compassion of God. They allow repressed feelings of anger, shame, guilt and grief to surface and be released in a safe environment of mutual support. The sharing of stories, and participation in various rituals and exercises, help individuals and couples grieve the loss of their unborn child. Both Rachel's Vineyard formats conclude with a Memorial Service and Mass of Resurrection. While Rachel's Vineyard™ is most suited to persons with a Catholic or other Christian spiritual background, we welcome anyone open to a spiritually oriented healing process to inquire about this particular program.

For more information about any After the Choice services, or to receive printed materials by U.S. mail, call After the Choice coordinator Colleen at 1-888-HOPE-790 or email: cknutsen@oakdiocese.org. All inquiries are strictly confidential.

A word about the lotus flower: Many people are curious why we have chosen the symbol of the lotus flower to represent our post-abortion outreach. The lotus grows up out of a place of darkness and muck, always reaching in the direction of light and life. It aptly symbolizes the courageous process of growth we have witnessed in the lives of many of our clients, many of whom speak of the abortion experience as something they had long kept tucked away in darkness. We hope the tender beauty of the lotus inspires you to be tenacious in your own journey of healing, and in your own growth toward light and life, faith and hope, beauty and wholeness.

AFTER THE CHOICE TOPICS:

There is hope for your future."
